In Celje, visitors can take a walk in the ambient setting of Ulica Obrtnikov Street in the Museum of Recent History in Celje and also among the remains of the Roman architecture and the town street of Celeia, A Town Under a Town. Children of all ages mustn't miss Herman’s Den (Hermanov Brlog), which is the only museum for children in Slovenia. A part of the permanent collection in the Celje Regional Museum is adapted to visitors with eye damage. Three exhibition grounds at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Celje periodically organise exhibitions of the recent and distant past of fine arts.

Tools used in local crafts can be seen in several ethnological collections, with the most comprehensive being on display at the Rogatec Open Air Museum and the Eco-Museum of Hop-Growing and the Brewing Industry in Žalec. Those who appreciate the technical legacy must visit Vransko Motorcycle Museum and the Southern Railroad Museum in Šentjur.
 
Exhibitions in Prebold, Stranice, on Planina pri Sevnici and in the Old Pot (Stari Pisker) in Celje serve as a reminder of the horrors of World War II and point out the exceptional sacrificing and courage of participants.
 
Many respected individuals are written into the history of the area of today’s Land of Celje. Near Ponikva, you can visit the birth home of the blessed Anton Martin Slomšek, and the Josip Pelikan glass photography studio from the end of the 19th century is unique in the Central European area.
