Church of St. Hyacinth, Rogatec

At the north-western outskirts of Rogatec along the road to Trška Gorca (Slomškova Street), the Church of St. Hyacinth was built between 1730 and 1738. It is composed of a rectangular nave with rounded corners and a façade tower, a narrow and quite low presbytery and a ground-floor vestry to the south. The bell tower is wooden, coated with panels and plastered and covered with Pohorje shale.
The sunny position of the church and large windows make the interior extremely bright and friendly. With three Baroque altars and high-quality altar depictions of J. F. Fromiller, a pulpit, renovated Janečkov organ (made in 1743 for the parish church and transferred to the current position in 1859) and extreme acoustics, the church is an example of comprehensive Baroque architecture and has been proclaimed a cultural monument.
