Parish Church of St. George in Slovenske Konjice

The Konjice parish church was first mentioned as far back as 1146 in a document by Peregrin, the Patriarch of Aquileia. The first church in Konjice was definitely built before 1146 and the current church of St. George is its successor. The main altar is dedicated to the church’s patron St. George. In addition to the main altar, there are five side altars in the church. You will definitely be drawn by the four statues in supernatural dimensions around the main altar. The statues were probably sculptures from the 17th century at the Mersi sculpture workshop.
